Orthodox Iconography (304C)

This course introduces students to the sacred art of Orthodox iconography. Students will explore the theological foundation, historical development, canonical guidelines, and basic techniques of icon writing (painting). By the end of the course, participants will have a deeper understanding of the icon’s role in Orthodox worship and begin their journey into the practice of painting icons with humility, reverence, and technical skill.
